Visiting the Scrap Yard

French Lake Auto Parts is open Monday through Friday. Scrap-yard hours are 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. No appointment is needed.

Checking In and Weighing Your Metal

When you arrive, enter through the red “SCRAP” door to check in and review the unloading process with our team.

Your load will be inspected to determine the type and grade of material. You will then be directed to the appropriate scale or unloading area.

• Ferrous metals contain iron and are usually magnetic.
• Non-ferrous metals include copper, brass, aluminum, lead and other metals that do not contain iron.

Getting Paid

Payment is based on the weight and grade of your material. A valid driver’s license or government-issued photo ID is required to receive payment.

Items We Cannot Accept

For the safety of our customers and employees, we cannot accept:

• Sealed or pressurized containers, including gas cylinders
• Refrigerators or freezers with the compressor still attached
• Televisions
• Computer monitors
• Loads containing excessive non-metallic materials

Refrigerators and Freezers

Refrigerators, freezers and other equipment containing refrigerants can only be accepted if the compressor has been removed before arrival.

Keep Loads Free of Non-Metallic Materials

Please remove wood, plasterboard, concrete, brick, soil and other non-metallic materials before bringing your load to the yard. Loads containing these materials may be subject to a weight or price deduction.
